Hi All!
A few of my passions in life are traveling, hiking and Special Olympics.
In honor of Special Olympics celebrating their 50th anniversary this July (17th through the 21st) in Chicago. I have decided to celebrate their accomplishments in creating an inclusive and accepting world for those with an intellectual disability in my own way!
I will be hiking 50 miles in the southern region of Iceland on the Laugavegur trail.
50 miles for the 50 years of hard work started by Eunice Kennedy Shrive. 50 miles for the 50 years of spreading awareness about the ABILITY our athletes have!
I hope to raise $50 per mile for Special Olympics to celebrate 50 MORE years of inclusion and acceptance!
A little more information about Special Olympics: In 1968, Eunice Kennedy Shriver started what is now the world's largest sports organization for children and adults with an intellectual disabilities, providing year-round training and competitions. Special Olympics uses sports as their platform for the leveling the playing field for those with an intellectual disability. Special Olympics uses their platform to spread awareness and acceptance through other programs such as Spread the Word, to End the Word Campaign, Unified Sports, Inclusive Health Programming and much more!
Special Olympics is a 501(c)(3) organization.
I would love to see your support! :) less

Through the power of sports, people with intellectual disabilities discover new strengths and abilities, skills and success. Our athletes find joy, confidence and fulfillment -- on the playing field and in life. They also inspire people in their communities and elsewhere to open their hearts to a wider world of human talents and potential. less
