Our Mission
To provide quality educational opportunities for vulnerable children so they may become leaders within their countries.
Because of our work, children who would otherwise be without support now have access to:
- education at the best local private schools in their regions, where they receive instruction in English but still learn their local languages
- accommodations at their schools and three meals a day
- leadership training, so that they will be equipped to build up their own communities
- private tutoring to ensure their academic success
- sports therapy programs, where they can develop life and leadership skills in tangible ways
- books, uniforms, and school supplies
Our work has extended from Tanzania into neighboring Zambia and into war-torn Syria. We desire to expand our work even further to reach the children who need us most in other locations. Even as we grow, our mission remains the same. By equipping Make A Difference Scholars with the resources they need without creating dependence, we work towards a world that no longer needs organisations like ours. The bigger a difference we make now, the sooner that will be. visit site

During his recovery at the U.S. Army's flagship hospital, Walter Reed, Travis found a passion for inspiring fellow wounded servicemen and women. While at Walter Reed, Travis consistently toured the facility seeking opportunities to encourage and spend time with fellow wounded soldiers and their families. For this service, Travis quickly earned the nickname, the "Mayor," at Walter Reed.
To carry on his passion, Travis Mills founded the Travis Mills Foundation, a nonprofit organization, formed to benefit and assist wounded and injured veterans and their families. Travis continues to inspire wounded servicemen, women and their families by showing them they can overcome their physical obstacles and emotional challenges and find purpose by staying the course through their recovery and beyond. visit site

Feeling helpless, hopeless and alone is our sorrow we began to realize we could no longer continue to live under the black cloud of despair that was Lafora. We connected with the world's leading experts in Lafora research and soon thereafter, through the power of the internet, began to find other Lafora families and encouraged them to join our cause of creating awareness, connection and raising money for research. visit site

ince 1978, the Mayfield Education & Research Foundation has supported groundbreaking advancements in the neurosciences, a field that exists largely on the outermost boundaries of knowledge. Neuroscientists have made great advancements in the last century, but there is still much we do not know. These uncharted territories offer limitless opportunities to save lives or vastly improve the quality of life for those suffering from some of humanity's most painful, chronic, and unpredictable diseases and disorders.Patients with neurological diseases and disorders are often stricken forcefully and without warning, or are suffering for long periods of time with mysterious symptoms, not knowing where to turn for help. The Mayfield Education & Research Foundation funds the leading-edge research that is in search of answers, alongside efforts to translate that knowledge into effective treatments, useful information, and hope. visit site

1.8 billion people around the world don't have access to safe water and 2.4 billion lack access to adequate sanitation. Women and children spend more than 4 hours walking for water each day, and more than 840,000 people die each year from water-related diseases.
We're here to change that. We want to see communities break free from the cycle of poverty and spend time growing, learning, and thriving, instead of walking for water and fighting off illness. visit site

The Moshi Epignosis Physiotherapy Clinic (EPT) is a clinic located in Moshi, Tanzania that provides Physiotherapy rehabilitation services for people with disabilities, primarily those who have had an accident or medical issue that requires ongoing rehabilitation. In Tanzania, often patients who require rehabilitation services are discharged from the hospital and do not continue to receive them due to barriers such as transportation or cost. The founder and director of EPT, Shedrack Domingo, recognized these barriers and established EPT in order to serve patients who cannot afford or who are unable to continue receiving therapeutic services at the hospital. Our organization is the only one providing these services in the Kilimanjaro Region. visit site

My goal is that as a group, we can cover his maximum out-of-pocket cost of $4000. At the least, this will allow him to return to his financial baseline and continue to provide as well as he can for his wife Ashten and their daughter, for whom he is such a natural father.
